I have never used the edit step “Adjust colour space” in CNX2 but when testing now, the colour space in View NX meta data still says Adobe RGB for that file. I have not checked this previously so I don’t know what it said before. Question 3 here: Is this the correct behavior or is the previous behavior correct.įrom this point the soft proofing doesn’t work.Īlso, when I check in meta data and image settings in View NX it says “Colour space Adobe RGB” for all previously saved files and new files. Question 2 here: If so, how is the workflow when editing files in ProPhoto RGB since the adjuster sometimes almost bottoms out because of lack of colours? Question here: Is it correct that the image will look very dark and dull when opening a NEF-file within the colour space Prophoto RGB in CNX2 compared with Adobe RGB colour space for instance? The colour space in the lower left corner still says ProPhoto RGB. When I open my old edited NEF-files or freshly captured ones in CNX2, they all look dark and dull, especially the red colour is almost gone. If you would have asked me if I had the settings I describe above for a couple of days ago I would say Yes, 100% sure. I the image looked the same as when I saved it and soft proofing worked. Reediting previously saved NEF-files was no problem. I have not used the edit step “Adjust colour space”, just saved the file. In the lower left corner it also said ProPhoto RGB as Colour space. In Colour management I have set the Colour space to ProPhoto RGB.Īfter opening the image in CNX2 the image looked quite OK but needed some minor or sometimes major postprocessing. I opened the RAW-file in Capture NX2 from CNX2 or View NX. Question here: “…when opening image” Does it refer to opening the image within View NX (as I believe) or in Capture NX (or Photoshop)?
I view in View NX 1.5.0 with Color management set to: “Use this instead of embedded profile when opening image” Unchecked. View NX and CNX2 2.2.4 has been reinstalled a couple of times.
Pantone Huey Pro calibrator for the display which works as far as I can see.Įpson 3800 printer with appropriate profiles. I use a Nikon D90 with Adobe RGB as default colour space and do only shoot in RAW. Since a couple of days I have faced a problem that confuses me a lot.
